The St. John Pharmacy building, located at 110 St. John Street in downtown Monroe, LA, was originally built in 1906 and housed offices for Monroe Building & Loan.

Building Committee members included: Chas E. Bynum, E.H. Rills, J.L. Moore, R.T. Prophit and F.G. Hudson. The original building was constructed by Duffy & Masling along with architects Drago & Smith. It was remodeled in 1930.

Vantage Health Plan purchased the building in 2003. Randy Armstrong along with Armstrong Builders, Inc. was hired as the contractors. SE Huey’s Jerry Madden is the architect responsible for preserving the original Greek revival architecture.

In June of 2012, the St. John Pharmacy opened after its $1.2 million renovation. The new facility staffs five pharmacists who are on hand to administer immunizations and offer advanced clinical services. Also located inside the pharmacy is a unique coffeehouse serving a variety of coffee drinks, teas and flavored water.
